Important notes
These points are important for understanding the difference between equipment placement, discounted hardware, and standard equipment purchases.
- Equipment is not sold and does not transfer ownership under the placement program.
- Replacement fees vary by model and can be up to the full retail value of the equipment.
- Program availability is subject to approval and eligibility.
- Full terms are governed by the Merchant Agreement and Equipment Placement Addendum.
Discounted equipment and service commitment
In some cases, merchants may choose to purchase Clover POS equipment at a discounted upfront price rather than participate in the $0 Equipment Placement Program.
By accepting discounted pricing on hardware, the merchant agrees to maintain an active merchant processing account for a mutually agreed-upon service period.
If the merchant account is closed, terminated, or becomes inactive for any reason before the end of the agreed service period, we reserve the right to charge the difference between the discounted price paid and the full retail value of the equipment.
This ensures that the discounted hardware pricing, made possible through the processing relationship, is honored fairly.
